Five prices or one

Here is how Vapi and Frequency differ.

Vapi is a great fit if you like choosing every part of your agent yourself and calling numbers around the world. If your customers are in India, we sell the whole call as one price in rupees, with the phone line included on pay as you go.

On Vapi, you build each minute from parts. You pick a transcriber, a model, a voice and a phone carrier. Each one is billed at its provider’s price, and Vapi adds about ₹4.75 ($0.05) a minute for hosting. If you like tuning every layer, that freedom is hard to beat.

It also means five numbers to watch, in dollars, and five places to look when a call goes wrong.

We sell the whole call. The speech recognition, the model and the voice are our own. The model is the open Gemma 4 26B, served on our own GPUs in India, where every call runs. On pay as you go, the phone line is in the price as well. You get one number per minute, in rupees.

How we read these numbers

Dollar prices converted at ₹94.96, the ECB reference rate on 16 October 2026. The rate.

Each bar is one minute as Vapi’s own pages price it, layer by layer, beside ours from our price list. A hatched end is a part of the call their price leaves out and publishes no number for, so it has no length.

Its default transport is Vapi's own free numbers, which are US numbers for inbound calls, so a call to India also needs a carrier.

What it costs

Vapi’s own calculator prices 1,000 minutes a month at ₹7,787 to ₹12,250, using Deepgram, OpenAI and ElevenLabs. That’s $82 to $129 at the ECB rate. The phone line to India is extra.

The same 1,000 minutes on our pay-as-you-go plan cost ₹5,000, with the line included. Once you’re calling every day, the volume plan brings it down to ₹1 a minute. We bill in 10-second blocks, so short calls stay cheap, and if nobody picks up, you pay nothing. The pricing guide shows how to forecast a month.

Choose Vapi if…

A few things you should know before you move. We can’t transfer a call to a person yet. A new workspace starts with 5 calls at a time, and we raise that when you ask, with no code change. And Vapi works with numbers in many countries. We call India, on +91 numbers you buy from us or bring from Plivo.

Moving an assistant

Most of it carries across. Your prompt and first message become system_prompt and first_message on a new agent. Customer details go in as {{variables}}. You start a call with POST /v2/calls, and the result comes back to you as a signed webhook. If your assistant follows a fixed script, a node-based agent will suit it better. The quickstart takes you from a new key to a real phone call in five minutes.

Keeping your own setup and only want a Hindi voice? Fourier TTS speaks OpenAI’s speech API, so you change the base URL and the model name.

Hear it on your own phone

Write a test script from your real calls, with the names, rupee amounts and English words your customers drop into Hindi. Run it on both, and ring your own phone. The latency guide shows how to time the gap between the caller’s last word and the reply.

What do 1,000 minutes cost on each?

Vapi's own calculator puts 1,000 minutes at ₹7,787 to ₹12,250 ($82 to $129) with its default providers, and a carrier's line for calls to India comes on top. On our pay-as-you-go plan, 1,000 minutes cost ₹5,000, with the line included.

Is Vapi's $0.05 a minute comparable to your ₹5?

No. Vapi's $0.05, about ₹4.75, is the platform fee alone. The speech recognition, the model, the voice and the phone line are billed on top, at each provider's price. Our ₹5 on pay as you go is all of them together.

Can I bring my own model or voice?

No. Every agent runs on our own stack, on every plan. If you only want our voice inside your own setup, Fourier TTS works on its own through OpenAI's speech API.

Do I need a Twilio account to call India?

No. The phone line is included on pay as you go, and you can buy an Indian number from us. If you already have a Plivo number, connect that instead.

Can the agent transfer a call to my team?

Not yet. It's on our roadmap, without a date. Until then, the agent can promise a callback, and your system picks it up from the call's outcome.
