The number problem

Here is how Retell and Frequency differ.

Retell AI gives you a lot of choice: pick the model, pick the voice, transfer calls, work in dozens of languages. If you're calling Indian customers from Indian numbers, we make that simpler. One rupee price covers the agent, and on pay as you go it covers the phone line too.

Retell’s own phone numbers are US and Canada only. To call from an Indian number, you connect your own provider through custom telephony. Then a minute has two prices: Retell’s, which its calculator puts at ₹14.24 ($0.150) by default, and the line’s.

We start in India. Buy a +91 number from us, or connect the Plivo number you already have. On pay as you go, the line is already inside the ₹5 a minute.

Dollar prices converted at ₹94.96, the ECB reference rate on 16 October 2026. The rate.

Each bar is one minute as Retell’s own pages price it, layer by layer, beside ours from our price list. A hatched end is a part of the call their price leaves out and publishes no number for, so it has no length.

Choice, or one stack

Retell lets you build the minute from parts. You choose the model, from GPT to Claude to Gemini, and the voice, from Retell’s own to ElevenLabs, Cartesia and others. That’s a lot of control, and the price moves with every choice, from ₹6.65 to ₹29.44 a minute.

We made those choices once, for Indian calls. The speech recognition, the model and the voice are our own. The model is the open Gemma 4 26B, served on our GPUs in India. Every plan runs the same stack. The plan only changes the price.

What it costs

For 1,000 minutes to India, Retell’s default agent plus its Twilio India rate comes to ₹28,488. Our pay-as-you-go plan is ₹5,000 for the same minutes, line included. Call every day, and the volume plan takes it to ₹1 a minute. We bill in 10-second blocks, and calls nobody answers are free. The pricing guide works through a full month.

Where Retell is ahead

Retell can transfer a call to a person, find its way through a phone menu and show a branded caller ID. We can’t transfer calls yet, so if your flow leans on any of these, test that part before you move. Retell also starts you at 20 calls at a time. We start at 5 and raise it when you ask.

Moving an agent

Your prompt, opening line and variables carry over to POST /v2/agents. A Retell flow becomes a node-based agent, and Agent Studio can draft one from your recordings. The prompt versus node guide helps you pick. Campaigns dial an uploaded list, with retries, inside the hours you set. Results come back as signed webhooks, and the webhook guide covers retries.

Then ring your own phone with both, on the network your customers use, and listen.

Here is what people ask before switching from Retell.

What do 1,000 minutes of calls to India cost?

On Retell, the calculator's default agent is ₹14.24 ($0.150) a minute, and its India rate through Twilio adds ₹14.24 ($0.15). That's ₹28,488 ($300) for 1,000 minutes. With your own SIP trunk, Retell adds nothing for the line and your carrier bills you. On our pay-as-you-go plan, 1,000 minutes cost ₹5,000, line included.

Can I keep my own carrier?

If it's Plivo, yes. Connect your Indian Plivo number and we add no phone charge. Otherwise, buy a +91 number from us.

Do you have flows like Retell's?

Yes, node-based agents, on every plan. Agent Studio can draft one from a description or from your call recordings.

Which languages do your agents speak?
