Three AWS products make one call

Here is how Amazon and Frequency differ.

Amazon Connect is a full contact centre: Connect runs the call, Amazon Lex understands it and Amazon Polly speaks, each billed on its own page. India is not in its default outbound lists, and Connect has no Mumbai endpoint. We sell one thing, the phone call in India: Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu and English agents on our own GPUs, one price a minute in rupees, line included on pay as you go.

Amazon Connect is a contact centre first. Queues, human agents, routing, analytics, and now AI agents inside it. For a call it uses three AWS products: Connect runs the call, Amazon Lex understands what the caller said, and Amazon Polly speaks. Each has its own price list.

For a company in India there is a second thing to know. Outbound calling on Connect is a default deny model, and India is in no Region’s default allowlist. India is served through Shared Trunking, which means a contract with a telco partner of your own. And Connect itself lists no Mumbai endpoint.

We sell one thing: the phone call in India. Our speech recognition, our model and our voice run on our own GPUs here. The model is the open Gemma 4 26B. On pay as you go, the line and +91 numbers are inside the rate, and the result of every call arrives on your webhook.

How we read these numbers

Dollar prices converted at ₹94.96, the ECB reference rate on 16 October 2026. The rate.

Each bar is one minute as Amazon’s own pages price it, layer by layer, beside ours from our price list. A hatched end is a part of the call their price leaves out and publishes no number for, so it has no length.

  • Amazon Connect: platform ₹3.61 ($0.038 per voice min)
  • Amazon Connect, outbound campaigns: platform ₹4.27 ($0.045 per minute)

Amazon's $0.038 per voice min is ₹3.61 at the ECB rate, billed per second after a 10-second minimum, and its $0.045 per minute for outbound campaigns is ₹4.27. Telephony comes on top, per second with a 60-second minimum, at the per-country rates on Amazon's telephony tables. Lex and Polly are priced per request and per character, so they have no length here.

From aws.amazon.com/products/connect/customer/pricing, aws.amazon.com/products/connect/customer/pricing/appendix, checked . Ours from our price list.

The chart shows the plan you choose above beside the price it pairs with: our T1 and T3 beside Amazon’s volume price, our T5 beside its pay-as-you-go price. Without that choice, every bar is listed.

What it costs

Connect’s voice service is $0.038 per voice min, which is ₹3.61 at the ECB rate, billed per second after a 10-second minimum. Outbound campaign calls are $0.045 per minute, about ₹4.27. Ours is ₹5 a minute on pay as you go, with the line inside. A 1,000-minute month is ₹5,000. Once you call every day, the volume plan takes it to ₹1 a minute. We bill in 10-second blocks, and a call nobody answers is free. The pricing guide shows how to forecast a month from your call lengths.

Who runs each part of the call

Amazon Connect is a contact centre built from three AWS products billed apart: Connect runs the call, Lex understands it and Polly speaks. In India the line comes from a telco partner you contract. We are the models and the platform, with the line inside the price.

Which to pick

Which is right for you?

Sometimes it's them. We'll say so.

Choose Amazon if…

  • You want a whole contact centre: queues, human agents, routing and analytics, with AI inside it.
  • You already run on AWS and want the call next to your Lambda functions and your data.
  • Your callers are in the US, Canada, the UK or another country on Amazon's default calling lists.
  • You need Bengali, Kannada or Marathi today. Amazon's agentic voice lists them.

Choose Frequency if…

  • Your customers are in India and call +91 numbers. Ours come with the product, no telco contract to sign.
  • You want one price per minute, in rupees, instead of three AWS bills in dollars.
  • You want the call to run on GPUs in India. Connect and Lex list no Mumbai endpoint.
  • You make a lot of calls. Our agents cost ₹1 a minute on the volume plan.

Where Amazon is ahead

If you need human agents in the same system, Connect is the bigger product by a long way: queues, transfers, a workspace for people, analytics on every channel. We cannot transfer a live call to a person yet. Amazon’s agentic voice lists Bengali, Kannada and Marathi today, which we have marked as coming. Polly has four Hindi voices and a Mumbai endpoint. And a Connect instance starts at 10 concurrent calls, where a new workspace with us starts at 5, raised when you ask.

What it does not give an Indian business is a simple way to call India. The numbers, the minutes and the carrier contract are yours to arrange.

Moving

Moving your agent across is easy.

Bring the agent you have. Most of it carries across.

  1. Step 1

    Open the sandbox.

Look around with no sign-up. We ask for an email only when you test a call.

  2. Step 2

    Bring your prompt.

Paste the prompt you already wrote into Agent Studio, and pick a voice and a language.

  3. Step 3

    Talk to it. Go live.

Test it in your browser or on your own phone, then go live the same day.

Moving a contact flow across

A Connect contact flow is a tree of blocks. That maps onto a node-based agent here: each block that speaks becomes a node, each branch a route, and Agent Studio can draft the first version from your recordings. A Lex bot with a prompt behind it becomes a prompt-based agent: paste the instructions, pick a voice and a language. Your Lambda hooks move to one signed webhook per call, with the transcript and the outcome in it. Bulk calls become campaigns that dial your list inside the hours you set and pause if the wallet runs out. The India API guide walks through the rest.

Then put both on your own phone, with your real script, and listen.

Questions

Here is what people ask before switching from Amazon.

What does a 1,000-minute month cost on Amazon Connect?

The voice service alone is $38, about ₹3,608 at the ECB rate, before telephony, and before Lex and Polly if you use them on their own. On our pay-as-you-go plan the same 1,000 minutes cost ₹5,000 with the phone line included, and ₹1 a minute on the volume plan.

Can Amazon Connect call Indian numbers?

Not out of the box. Outbound calling is a default deny model, and India is in no Region's default allowlist or in the outbound campaign country list. India is served through Shared Trunking, where you contract a telco partner for numbers and minutes. We sell +91 numbers, or you connect the Plivo number you already have.

Does Amazon Connect speak Hindi?

Yes. Hindi (hi_IN) is listed for Amazon Lex and for Connect's AI agents and agentic voice, and Amazon Polly has four Hindi voices. Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu and English are live in our speech recognition and our voice, and the agent slips into English mid-sentence the way callers do.

Does my call run in India?

On Amazon, only Polly lists a Mumbai endpoint; Connect and Lex do not. Every call with us runs on our own GPUs in India.
